Excited to finally share this with you, a vibrant, feel-good way to ease the stress and hush the mind-noise.
C.A.L.M.™ means Creative Art Letting go Mind-noise, a colorful, feel-good method dreamed up by me, Jane Cipp, Certified Art Therapy Practitioner 🪷 and big believer that healing doesn’t have to be beige.
It’s a creative playground built from real experience, solid theory, and everything I’ve learned (and lived) in the world of art therapy, but delivered with heart, honesty, and a splash of fun.
Here, we don’t overthink healing.
We paint it out, scribble through it our way back to calm.
C.A.L.M.™ is your invitation to gently tune out the mind-noise (hi stress, hi overthinking) and reconnect with yourself, one messy, magical brushstroke at a time.
The purpose of C.A.L.M.™ is to offer a non-intimidating, creative space where you can:
It’s not about making "good" art. It’s about feeling good while creating, at your pace, in your way.
It’s grounded in the real-deal science of art therapy, a respected mental health field that’s been around since the 1940s. Backed by neuroscience and psychology, research (Ulman, Naumburg, McNiff…) shows that when words fall short, creativity steps in. Art helps regulate your nervous system, process stuck emotions, and create space for healing, not by “fixing” you, but by letting your inner voice breathe, express, and be seen.
And in 2025? We’ve moved past the beige version of healing.
We know now that growth doesn’t have to happen in a sterile room with a clipboard.
It happens in color.
It happens when you say yes to feeling.
Yes to mess. Yes to movement. Yes to music. Yes to making something that isn’t “perfect” but feels like you.
C.A.L.M.™ meets you exactly where you are, hoodie on, playlist playing, coffee nearby, as you scribble the stress out and paint your way back to presence.
That’s healing.
That’s art.
That’s C.A.L.M.™, your creative permission slip to feel better, your way. 🎨💚
Studies in neuroaesthetics (Zeki, 2009; Chatterjee, 2014) show that engaging with art, even simple doodles or music, activates reward centers in the brain, reduces cortisol (aka stress), and increases feelings of pleasure and flow.
In short: your brain wants you to make art. It literally lights up when you do.
Let’s be real, art isn’t just drawing in silence.
It’s dancing barefoot at a music festival.
It’s choosing your outfit like it’s a mood board.
It’s doodling on the corner of your planner.
It’s taking photos of neon signs at midnight.
That’s therapy, too.
The C.A.L.M.™ method taps into this modern reality, that we’re all already creating, and with just a little guidance, it becomes a tool to release, ground, and grow.
Inspired by art therapy practices
1.🧃 CREATIVE
Art Therapy principle: Imagination & cognitive function
Your spark lives here. No perfection needed, just curiosity, imagination, and a playful mood.
2. 🎨 ART
Art Therapy principle: Mindfulness
Here, you slow down. The process becomes your breath. No rush. Just brush.
3.🧼 LETTING GO
Art Therapy principle: Emotional release & well-being
Stress gets stuck, in your chest, in your head. C.A.L.M.™ uses art to softly loosen and release it.
4. 🌀 MIND-NOISE
Art Therapy principle: Awareness & symbolic expression
Let your art say what’s hard to explain. This is where you reconnect with your truth, through shape, color, and movement.
C.A.L.M.™ is for anyone craving calm, especially those who feel overwhelmed, anxious, emotionally tired, or creatively blocked.
Whether you’re an overthinker, a sensitive soul, or simply curious about mindful creativity, this space is for you.
